OM Issue on SalesOrder Line Stuck with Deferred Status

Many a time I have heard from my clients that Sales Order line stuck at the DEFERRED status and is not progress by theworkflow background process for hours n days..

My Initial reaction are "check of they are at DEFERRED status because of valid reason .Like part of MODEL or FULFILLMENT set.

But if they are not part of Set /Model most of time this is because of corruption in the DEFERRED workflow Queue.Oracle Support most of time advise it is better to REBUILD the DEFERRED workflow queue , and the scripts are available at metalink.oracle.com .This is the good and permanent solution.

But in case you need some quick fix to progress the Order , you can try for "RETRY" the activity that stuck at the DEFERRED status.

Please note that if you have order lines stuck at DEFERRED status , there could be a valid reason for that too , like they are part of fulfillment set or Model. So before you look for solution make sure that you have analyzed your data well.

Same solution can be good for any other type of workflow too.
