Creating and testing a simple business event in Oracle EBS

Here is a demo on creating and testing a business event. This is a very simple example where a row is inserted into a table when the rule function (pl/sql package) attached to the subscription is executed. This rule function will be executed when the event queue is consumed by Workflow Agent Listener (one of the concurrent managers).

Order Management is all about entering, booking,fulfilling the customer orders.  It is the customer orders. Typically an order consists of a Order header and  order lines,with each line corresponding to an inventory item.  To create the order lines, we need an inventory item. let us choose a  standard item, ie. item with BOM type Standard. Now we should also  choose item corresponding to the org_id that we are in. Order to Cash Cycle in Brief: The Order to Cash Process flow starts with entering the order with a standard item into system. When you enter an order, the item are validated in oracle inventory, the price is calculated for the items using the pricing engine; the availability of the items are checked and may be reserved. Once all the required fields are entered on both the header and the lines, you can book the order. When you click on the Book Order button, the API OEXUBOKB.pls, checks if the order is eligible for booking. If eligible the order is booked and the order header status would change to booked. The next step is the pick release with which you move the items from the warehouse to the staging area.
